Smallbean is a not-for-profit corporation with our headquarters in Boston, Massachusetts. We collect slightly used electronics and ready these items for redeployment in the Developing World. As part of this process, we seek to assemble the donations into cohesive clusters, with the contents of each cluster supporting and enhancing the utility of the other items in the cluster. For example, a cluster bound for a school in Tanzania might contain two laptops with preloaded music and photo software, six digital cameras and six mp3 players.

We partner with established NGO’s in the Developing World to distribute our clusters to schools, orphanages and other organizations in need. At Smallbean, we believe that working with NGO’s already active in the Developing World is the best way to insure that your donated electronics live a fruitful second life and, at the end of this second lifetime, are disposed of in an environmentally responsible manner.
