What Smallbean is looking for in a laptop

We'll be using this laptop to create a solar-powered computer lab in Karatu, Tanzania. Smallbean loves solar power, but solar power doesn't love all laptops. We're looking for highly energy efficient laptop computers to use as part of the Citizen Archivist Project. For those who know a thing or two about electricity, we're generally looking for laptops that consume less than 25 watts of average power.

Smallbean is a new organization and we're starting small. This means that we can't use everyone's old gadgets as part of the Citizen Archivist Project in Karatu. Besides, it's very likely that no one in Tanzania wants your old GPS navigation system. But that doesn't mean that your old stuff can't support Smallbean! In many cases, even if we can't take your electronics to Africa, we can work with a company called Gazelle that will accept your old gadgets and then donate their value back to Smallbean.
